First Check

First Check will be a fast, free early screening tool: enter a UK postcode or address and get a plain-English read on planning risk before you offer on a plot — conservation areas, listed buildings, Green Belt, flood risk and similar designations, translated out of planning jargon into what they actually mean for a self-build.

It is designed to be the first, quick step before a full Desktop Feasibility Check, not a replacement for one. A screening result narrows the questions; it does not answer them.
